Canon EOS 5D Mark II
October 21st, 2008
Like many, I’m very excited about the Canon EOS 5D Mark II. Canon is set to release this 21 megapixel behemoth in late November for a street price of around $3000, body only. Not cheap. But when you consider that this camera shoots both stills and 1080p high definition video, $3000 doesn’t sound that bad. Carrying only one device is certainly appealing for many professionals and enthusiasts. And unlike Nikon’s latest offering in the D90, which shoots only 720p video, the Mark II does not use the Motion JPEG format, but rather MPEG4. If you’re interested in seeing what the video from the Mark II looks like, the folks at Digital Photography Review have a few samples, and in one word, they are stunning. Check them out here.
